Bond Street Station Upgrade

London Underground Limited (LUL) needed to secure £300 million funding to deliver the proposed capacity enhancement scheme for Bond Street underground station. We developed a computer-generated film to secure this important internal buy-in.

  • Client: London Underground Ltd

By marrying quantitative analysis supplied by transport engineers, SKM Colin Buchanan, and 3D visualisation, we created a film showing a split screen of the station during peak travel times, both now and as predicted in 2016. This immediately communicated the dangers of doing nothing, and as a result of the findings, TfL maintained the £300 million funding allocated to Bond Street in the spending review undertaken in 2010 and the new access routes are currently under construction.

[us_testimonial style=”2″ author=”Sandra Weddell” company=”Transport Modelling Manager, Transport for London”]The work took outputs from detailed Legion pedestrian modelling to help accurately portray how increasing passenger numbers lead directly to increased delay and congestion in Bond Street station. What was particularly insightful was the way the 3D outputs were produced into a concise visual narrative that was accessible to a very broad range of stakeholders.[/us_testimonial]
