It’s not well known that Network Rail sells a wide range of recycled track material, including railway sleepers and aggregate for re-use for garden design, building projects, solar panel bases, heritage railways, and much more. An environmentally friendly way of removing material and offering competitively priced products for customers, historically Network Rail had conducted all transactions over the phone or via their depots.
They wanted to create a more wide-reaching, accessible and automated service for their growing customer base – an ecommerce website showcasing all of the products available and providing an easy route for the public and businesses alike to buy material direct from Network Rail.
Alongside the website, we created a media strategy and advertising campaign to launch and introduce recycledrailways.co.uk to the marketplace. This
has included a Pay Per Click and Search Engine Optimisation campaign as well as print ads. As the website ecommerce site grows, so too will the advertising campaign and channels to support this exciting venture, including taking an exhibition stand at Gardeners World Live at the NEC.
