Its just a few weeks until MIPIM and here at Wagstaffs we are gearing up for a busy week in the sun (positive thinking for the weather gods!).
We will be showcasing VU.CITY in the Innovation Forum as well as in the London Pavilion, as digital creative partners within the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry stand.
VU.CITY is the first, most accurate and detailed digital interactive 3D model of London.
A joint venture between Wagstaffs, GIA and Vertex Modelling, VU.CITY uses ground-breaking technology to offer London’s developers, planners, architects and Boroughs, a visual tool to assist in future proofing London’s built environment, transforming the planning and communication process around new development, at a macro level.
VU.CITY covers more than 100 square kilometres of Central London, currently covering five Boroughs: Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster, The City and Tower Hamlets, with this coverage continuing to grow. The ability to overlay data in the model is critical to planning London’s future, unlocking how development and infrastructure is tackled, in a more holistic way.
Integrating data
Features of the VU.CITY dashboard include sunlight paths, transport routes, LVMF and riverside protected views. By placing camera points into the model at ground level, the user is able to complete preliminary assessments on verified views requirements, creating a more efficient route through the planning process.
Unlocking how we tackle development and infrastructure planning in the capital
It not only accurately shows the current built environment, but also allows users to toggle between existing, consented and proposed developments, showing the development pipeline in London and helping to establish how the future city might look. In one interactive model it is possible to understand the impact of development clusters across London, from the City and Blackfriars, to the Isle of Dogs and Kings Cross. By visualising London in 3D, and giving the ability to integrate data digitally, VU.CITY is the key to unlocking how we tackle future development and infrastructure planning.
